He led Belgium to the final of FIFA 2014 World Cup in Brazil. His team defeated USA in the round of sixteen but unfortunately they were beaten by Argentina with Messi scored a goal in quarter final round. After having a friendly match with France in November 2015 as well as topping the group B, Wilmots successfully took his team to number one in FIFA rankings.
How Belgium qualified
Surprisingly, there were 5 goals each for Kevin De Bruyne and Eden Hazard in two draws, seven victories and a defeat which put the team throught at the top of Group B. that defeat came since they were beaten by Wales right in Cardiff after Gareth Bale putting them down.
